A wedding is one of the most important days of a couples life and so everyone always wants them to go smoothly with no mishaps and most importantly of all is no disasters. There are a number of things that you can do to make sure if the worse does happen that it can be fixed quickly and with the least amount of stress as possible.
We all know that the weather can be unpredictable no matter where you are in the world, just because it’s never rained in July for years doesn’t mean a thunderstorm won’t come in the day of your wedding so it’s pretty important to have a backup plan just in case.
Even if you are 100% sure that the weather may not change and it’ll be just as you want it it’s important to make sure that you do have something in place, this may be if you’re having an outdoor wedding that you have an alternate space indoors that is suitable or marquees that you can get the morning of the day if it the sky does turn a bit grey and you see clouds in the distance.
One of our top tips is to always have an emergancy kit in place, now you might be thinking that this is like a first aid kit with bandages, plasters and so on inside and it does have these but it has a lot more. It’s basically a kit to make sure that if there are any last minute alterations, mistakes, issues or fixes that need to be done then they can quickly and easily.
We recommend that these kits include the following, first aid related items such as banadages, plasters (also essential for rubbing shoes), pins, makeup, clips, hair spray, sewing kit, tablets for headaches, mints, clothes and wipes. So you’ll be able to fix all sorts of emergancies from fashion to beauty.
As the bride or groom on the wedding day you don’t want to be busy running around doing last minute tasks, this is why we recommend that you get lots of help to do all these things so on the actual day of the wedding you can focus on the things that matter which are marrying your partner.
Make sure that everyone knows there roles on the days leading up to and day of the wedding so you don’t have to make sure that they are all doing what they are meant to be.
We call it ‘The List’ and basically it’s a list of alternative suppliers, just in case something happens such as the florist falling ill and not being able to supply the flowers. With a list of other suppliers you can quickly contact them at late notice and hope that they can help you out.
By having a list of suppliers that you have already looked at and approved to some extent, so they may not be your first choice but you would still be happy with them means that if you do have to look for a different supplier it takes away time and stress. A list of suppliers should include florists, food caterers, music/bands/DJ, photographer, makeup artists and even venues.
Remember that a wedding is never going to be go perfectly and there will always be little issues that arise but you must just enjoy the day.
