Secret Santa is a Western Christmas tradition that is derived from the tradition of giving presents on Christmas which has rooted in the legend of St Nicholas. This gift giving event made it easier for large groups of friends or people who work together as it was often an expensive and stressful time for many having to think and buy presents for a big collective of friends.<\/p>\n
How does it work?<\/h2>\n
Friends or work colleagues will all put their names into a hat\/box and each person then picks a random name out. This name will be the person who they are buying a present for and must be kept a secret from others. This ensures you only have a single person to give a present to, and everyone gets one.
