home of personalised gifts

Christmas is always the “funny one”, the one that ends up coming round very quickly; you’re tricked into thinking that it’s two months away and then, before you know it, it turns into two weeks and you end up rushing around, trying to figure out what to buy and find all the gifts you want to get, either online or on high-street and shopping centres.
So, when is the right time to start buying Christmas presents? Well, it all varies depending on what you are buying and for how many people. Of course, if you simply have to buy a few items for a few people then it will take less time than if you are having to buy for the whole family clan – your partner, children, parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, and that one long lost cousin who suddenly got in touch -, all your friends, and work colleagues. In that case, you might want to start buying your Christmas presents sooner, plan and spread the cost over a longer period of time.
You also have to take into account what you are buying for your dearest. Let’s say you have used our Guide to Buying a Christmas Present and you’re getting a personalised item. Items such as the ones from our website will need slightly longer to produce than other items which are generic, due to the personalisation element that makes them so special. This means, when it comes to buying something that needs to be engraved, printed or personalised in some manner, such as the range of our glassware or jewellery, you need to give a little extra time when ordering before Christmas. As a rule of thumb we always say give yourself an extra week when ordering something personal so that it can be produced and then delivered on time. However, don’t forget to always check the Christmas delivery cut off dates.
In addition, the delivery services such as the Royal Mail and other companies which take care of you precious deliveries, also have a massive traffic increase and that, mixed with potential adverse weather conditions, can mean that you may struggle to get items if you don’t order with plenty of time to go.
Generally speaking, give yourself more time than you think you need to place your orders. It’s always better to have the presents in your hands, having an extra spare time to wrap them up nicely with weeks to go. You can simply then put the presents in your secret hiding place (but don’t hide them too well in case you forget where you put them!) until the day you place them under the Christmas tree. The last thing you want is to be rushing around on Christmas eve trying to find that one item you need desperately…
If you are very organised then the sooner you order your items the better. The end of November and start of December is a great time as you can take advantage of any prolonged Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers and Christmas deals that are also rolling in. If you order at this time, you are most likely to receive your items by mid December, ready for you to wrap up and hide until a week or so before the special day.
And when do you start buying Christmas presents? Are you the organised person who starts buying presents as soon as summer goes, or the last minute one who somehow manages to snatch amazing presents two days before Christmas Day? Let us know!
